Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about superhero.pw โ€” the creative workspace for comic series production, scriptwriting, and long-form storytelling.

What is superhero.pw?

superhero.pw is a creative workspace for comic series production, episodic scripts, and long-form storytelling. It combines an Episode Manager, Character Library, Series Timeline, Script Editor, Writing Analytics, and Production Task Tracking in one focused application โ€” built for stories that unfold over time, not just single scripts.

Who is superhero.pw built for?

superhero.pw is built for comic creators, webtoon artists, episodic writers, and anyone producing long-form serialized stories. If your project spans multiple chapters, episodes, or seasons, and you need to track characters, arcs, and production progress across the whole series, superhero.pw was designed for you.

Is superhero.pw free?

Yes. superhero.pw offers a free 30-day trial with no credit card required. After the trial, the Starter plan is $15/month for unlimited series, character bibles, script editing, timelines, and analytics. A Studio tier for teams and studios is coming soon.

How is superhero.pw different from Final Draft?

Final Draft is the industry standard for formatting a single screenplay for studio submission. superhero.pw is built for series storytelling โ€” comics, episodic scripts, and long arcs. It includes an Episode Manager, Character Bibles that track arcs across seasons, a Series Timeline, Writing Analytics, and Comic Panel Layouts. Final Draft treats each script as an isolated document; superhero.pw understands that your Season 2, Episode 5 lives inside an arc that started in Episode 3.

How is superhero.pw different from Celtx?

Celtx is a pre-production suite for film and video โ€” scheduling, call sheets, breakdown sheets, budgeting. superhero.pw is a creative workspace for series storytellers. It includes character bibles that serve storytelling (not scheduling), a Series Timeline for narrative beats, writing analytics, and comic-specific tools like Panel Layouts and a Palette Designer. Celtx organizes by production type; superhero.pw organizes by story.

What is a character bible?

A character bible is a detailed reference document for each character in your story. It includes personality traits, physical descriptions, backstory, motivations, and relationship mapping. In superhero.pw, character bibles also track character arcs across seasons and episodes, so you can see how a character evolves and when they appear.

What file formats does superhero.pw support?

superhero.pw uses Fountain (an open, plain-text screenplay format) and Markdown for script editing. These formats are portable, human-readable, and not locked into any proprietary system. You can import and export Fountain and Markdown files at any time.

Can I use superhero.pw for webtoons?

Yes. superhero.pw supports any serialized visual storytelling format โ€” comics, webtoons, graphic novels, episodic scripts, and serialized prose. The Episode Manager, Panel Layouts, and Palette Designer are especially useful for webtoon creators who produce on a weekly release schedule.

How do I plan a comic series in superhero.pw?

  1. Create a Series โ€” the top-level container for your story
  2. Add Characters โ€” build character bibles with traits, arcs, and relationships
  3. Create Projects (Episodes) โ€” set up your season and episode structure
  4. Use the Series Timeline โ€” map narrative beats and production milestones
  5. Write in the Script Editor โ€” draft scenes using Fountain or Markdown

  7. Monitor Progress โ€” use Analytics to check writing velocity, character presence, and narrative balance

Does superhero.pw have a Palette Designer?

Yes. The Palette Designer lets you generate color palettes using color theory harmonies (complementary, analogous, triadic), extract colors from uploaded images, and apply palettes across your series for visual consistency.

What is the Fountain format?

Fountain is an open, plain-text markup language for screenwriting. It uses simple conventions โ€” all-caps for character names, INT./EXT. for scene headings, parentheticals for delivery notes โ€” that are both human-readable and machine-parseable. superhero.pw has native Fountain support in its Script Editor.
